BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union (EU) has frozen 13 13.8 billion worth of Russian assets since the February 24 invasion of Ukraine, EU Commissioner Didier Reynders said on Monday. "At the moment we have frozen 13.8 billion euros in assets from Oli Garch and other agencies, so that's a big amount," Renders told reporters in Prague, according to the broadcaster. He said before an informal meeting of EU justice ministers hosted by the Czech Republic, "But I would like to say that a large part of it is coming from more than 12 billion five member countries. Declined to be named but said he expected other members of the 27-member bloc to step up efforts soon. In mid-June, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner estimated the value of frozen assets from Germany alone at 4.48 billion euros.
